trimming the tree trimmings

It has always been my goal to get the Christmas decorations up right after Thanksgiving.
I always waited until the house was clean. Decided to bag that this year and just get them up.

Karl and Eva went and got a tree.
Eva wanted a little tree in her room. So Karl trimmed some of the extra branches and I stuck them in vases.
Eva started decorating right away (with much more enthusiasm than the real tree. For whatever reason, no one likes to do it. Working on that one).

She did a great job.
Candy canes, red ribbons, gingerbread man, an angel, a "love" ornament...
She was so excited to show us her tree.
And while passing Samuel's room, I noticed that Samuel did a great job, too.
His handmade, white "Transformer rocket ship" and his orange Transformer.

I love the stylish vase. At least he decorated it before he turns it into camoflage. (which would inevitably happen in the Scott home)

I really like that idea...mini trees for the kids. I probably shouldn't cut branches off our artificial, pre-lit tree though, huh.
Samuel's tree is hilarious.

Priceless! Thanks for sharing their trees. Love their creative spirits. Yeah, well, we love decorating the tree around here. The kids could not wait to put the ornaments on themselves. If only I could make them understand that you don't put all of the ornaments on the same branch . . .

Am I too late to get one of your fabulous onesies? Size 12 months please.

adorable. We put up a little four foot silver tree because we will be gone for most of December and I didn't want to fork out the money for a big fake tree. The little silver tree is decorated nicely with about five of Freya's favorite ornaments on one branch. I love it. We also have a pink flocked tree in her room that she decorated as well.
