Old Habits Die Hard

My brother in law's mom was going through some old church news and found this picture from 1978.

Some things that I noticed:

  • My mom was a babe.
  • My dad had an awesome tie.
  • My brother's bangs. Look familiar? I thought they did. Wonder who cut them? I don't.

Michelle, my family happened to be the token minority family in Utah in the church in the 70's. You know what I am talking about, right? Like the ones that they show over and over in the choir, or the ones they take pictures of at conference. So, my family was used in few church manuals and stuff like that. Yep, I am the baby in the picture, too young to recall any of that life if fame.

Classic picture. I was also a token minority growing up in an Hispanic neighborhood in the Bay Area. But, due to lack of press attention to our minority plight, we moved to Florida.

Hilarious! And, Christina, I so feel your pain about the haircut. I value my boys' hair (Ian's stick straight locks and Isaac's mess of curls) even more than I value Sophie's hair (she never lets me fix hers). Once, Brian joked about giving Ian a buzz, and I had 2 or 3 nightmares that it happened. Just think of it as his "summer haircut." And, he is still adorable.
